300 is an American film which was produced in 2006 and is based on the novel “300”. The film details the battle of 300 spartan warriors who go into battle, led by King Leonidas, against the Persians but more specifically the self proclaimed god-king Xerxes.
The Spartan warriors are extremely well built and muscular, which is highlighted by the fact that they don’t seem to wear much clothing even during battle besides capes, leather skirts and weaponry.
King Leonidas’ wife, Gorgo, plays a big role in the film by attempting to rally support from the senate for her husband and his brave Spartan warriors. Gorgo is a classic Spartan beauty, admired by all other women. The Persians throw everything they have at the 300 Spartan soldiers, in particular the Immortals. However, Leonidas and his men prove that there is nothing immortal about Immortals as they quickly defeat them.
This is an epic film with larger than life characters, both heroic and not, and is a great theme for parties and costume ideas.
