Alohamora! Unlock the inner Harry Potter inside you at your next costume party!

Anyone alive during the late 1990's and early 2000's, to today will be able to tell you some fun fact about Harry Potter. 'The boy with the scar,' 'The boy with the broken glasses,' 'The wizard boy,' 'Voldemort's enemy.' The list is endless! You're sure to be identifiable as Harry Potter at any costume party, as his cape, tie and glasses are pretty hard to miss. Here is a fool-proof list of hints for dressing up as Harry Potter.

What you'll need:

1. Harry Potter is famous for his zig-zag shaped scar which runs on the right side of his forehead. To replicate this one, you'll need to pull out some eyeliner! Choose a deep brown colour to draw an outline of the scar on the forehead. Once you're happy with the shape, make the line more definite. Use a red lip liner and trace a line next to the brown line you have just drawn. Use your finger to smudge the two colours together just fractionally. A perfect scar!

2. You can't be Harry Potter without a pair of his signature circular glasses. These glasses are very easy to find, and you can purchase them for a small cost. If they don't already have a piece of white tape in between them to replicate Harry's broken frames, you can use a small piece of masking tape to do this. You'll aslo need Harry's wand, you can purchase both Harry's wand and glasses for just $21.50.

3. You'll need a cape and a tie. Any black cape will do and if you want to go to some extra effort you could make your own Hogwarts logo to sew on. To create Harry's tie, you could buy a plain white tie and paint the maroon and yellow coloured stripes onto it!

Harry Potter is a great character choice. What is so great about it is that if you're not that fond of dressing up, all of these essentials are easy to take on and off and you can wear your own clothes underneath! Get your Harry Potter essentials kit here:
