The Mario character is part of the fictitious world of the video game series, and is one of the most popular video characters in video game history. He has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation, since his debut in Donkey Kong, in the arcades.
Not only well-known by gameplayers, Mario is classified as a superhero in his own right, becoming Nintendo's mascot. The majority of Mario's history is shrouded in mystery.
